"RUGGEDBOOK" is Samwell's brand name for their complete line of semi-rugged and fully rugged mobile computing products that include convertible notebooks, Tablet PCs and ultra-mobile PCs.
Rugged Convertible Notebooks
Samwell's RUGGEDBOOK SR858 is a convertible notebook that can be used both as a laptop and as a Tablet PC. The platform was designed for deployment in field service, telecommunications, military, transportation, mining, and similar applications where trust-inspiring ruggedness, an indoor/outdoor viewable display, excellent battery life and balanced overall performance matter. Designed to offer maximum versatility, expansion possibilities, and support for the latest wireless technologies, the SR858 is the rugged notebook of choice for today's outdoor professionals.
Rugged Tablet PCs
The Samwell RUGGEDBOOK SR800 is a rugged Tablet PC for applications that require mobility in the field without giving up the power and versatility of a full-function Intel Core-based Windows computer.
With a large 10.4-inch display, dual-mode touch and digitizer input, excellent onboard connectivity, long battery life, GPS and 3.5G communication support, and inherent ruggedness, the SR800 is a perfect lightweight, ergonomic solution for the field. A magnesium-alloy housing, rubber bumpers, a wide operating temperature range, and the ability to withstand shock, vibration and exposure to dust and rain facilitate maximum reliability and endurance outdoors and on the job. The somewhat smaller RUGGEDBOOK SR820 offers Intel Atom-based netbook functionality and efficiency in a lightweight and very compact, yet fully rugged, tablet with a wide-format 8.9-inch WSVGA display. Available with a 1D laser, GPS, and camera, the SR820 is a serious data capture and field documentation tool.
In mid-2011, Samwell introduced the RUGGEDBOOK 810, a next generation ultra-light and compact rugged media tablet with a capacitive 7-inch multi-touch display. Powered by Intel's latest generation of Atom processors, the RUGGEDBOOK 810 is capable of running Windows 7 or the Android operating system, bringing modern media tablet functionality into the world of rugged and industrial computing.
Mobile Clinical Assistants (MCAs)
Clinical environments have special computing requirements. Devices must be light, quiet, rugged, reliable, easy to clean and disinfect, and capable of capturing data in a variety of ways. The Samwell RUGGEDBOOK MCA9 fills all those requirements in a package that is lighter and more compact than competing products.
