GD-Itronix introduces fully-rugged GD3080 tablet
General Dynamics Itronix introduced the GD3080 fully-rugged tablet computer as a next-gen version of its Duo-Touch II tablet. The 4.0 pound fanless tablet now features higher XGA resolution on its 8.4-inch DynaVue display that has an auto-switching resistive touchscreen/active digitizer combo. The GD3080 runs Windows 7 and offers more memory as well as higher capacity hard disk and SSD options. Up to three RF modems and GPS can be integrated in a unit at one time. Sealing is at the IP54 level and the machine, which starts at US$3,250, can handle significant abuse. GD-Itronix introduces rugged GD400 enterprise cross-over handheld/smartphone
General Dynamics Itronix introduced the GD400, a rugged enterprise handheld computer combines smartphone, computing, and data collection functionality. Powered by an 800MHz ARM Cortex 8 processor and running Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5.3, the GD400 offers excellent data capture capabilities with an expanded keypad, 1D/2D imager, various sensors, GPS, and camera with flash. The 3.7-inch sunlight-readable display has full VGA resolution, and despite compact size and low weight, the device is impressively rugged. AVADirect adds GD Itronix computers
AvaDirect announced to better address the rugged mobile computing market, it has added GD Itronix notebooks and tablets to it lineup, saying that "GD Itronix combines the durable form factor, and high-performance of today's standards to bring a product that is sure meet any and all requirements set forth. General Dynamics Itronix introduced the GD3015 semi-rugged tablet computer, a 2.7 pound fanless design with a 10.4-inch transflective resistive touchscreen. The GD3015 runs Windows 7 on a 1.6GHz Atom Z530, offers good onboard connectivity, and a wealth of data collection options (GPS, RFID, Mag Card, camera, scanner, etc.). GD-Itronix signs license agreement with Microsoft
Microsoft and General Dynamics Itronix have signed a patent agreement that provides broad coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for General Dynamics Itronix devices running the Android platform (which for now is just the GD300). General Dynamics Itronix has introduced the GD8200 ultra-rugged notebook computer, a substantial technology update to the GD8000. Now equipped with a 2.2/2.9GHz Intel Core i7-2655LE processor and ancillary circuitry, the GD8200 should be substantially more powerful than its predecessor, while retaining full backward compatibility and its 8-hour battery life rating.
